Kishugu Unmanned Aerial Services (KUAS) is a professional training academy that combines skill, passion and aviation experience to offer the best drone training for your needs.

RPAS COURSE

This course will focus on getting you comfortable with using the drone and how to set it up & learn the on screen instrumentation. We will then bring you outside with our expert pilots who will get you started with some hands on flying lessons getting you comfortable with using the controls.

From there you will learn how to plan and execute your flight plan or mission safely & securely in the designated airspace. You will finish with a series of theoretical & practical exams.

KISHUGU UNMANNED AERIAL SERVICES (KUAS) RPAS PILOT LICENSE COURSE

Course Includes:

  • Theoretical Drone Education
  • Simulator Practice
  • Practical Flying
  • Theory Testing
  • Practical Exam
  • Presentation of SACAA Accredited RPL (RPAS Pilot License)

Curriculum covers the following subjects:

  • Human Factors
  • Air Law (RPAS CATS & CARS) Part 101
  • Principles of Flight
  • Navigation & Flight Planning
  • Meteorology
  • Operational Procedures
  • Radio Telephony
  • RPAS General
  • Field Ops Preparation

PRACTICAL TRAINING

  • Professional flight instructors provide one on one training sessions
  • A recommended 7 practical sessions are available to students (instruction charged per session thereafter)
  • Students can request training sessions according to their availability 
  • All training in accordance with the recommendations set out by the SACAA Part 101

Your last practical training day is spent covering various flight manoeuvres that you could be tested on as well as anything else that could be included in the sign out. Once students are ready, a letter of recommendation from the Practical Flight Instructor will be prepared.

The final phase of testing is called the Sign Out. This is done on a different day with a SACAA registered Designated Flight Examiner (DFE). The exam itself covers an array of skills besides the flight exam and we prepare students for this prior to the sign out.

COURSE PRE-REQUISITES

  • Class 3 Aviation Medical Certificate
  • Restricted Radio Telephony License
  • English Proficiency Level 4 or Higher Certification
