HELICOPTER PILOT - AERIAL FIRE FIGHTING - UH1H
Position reports to: Line Captain, Chief Pilot and Responsible Person Flight Operations
Minimum Requirements:
Current South African Commercial Pilots Licence or higher
UH-1H, Bell 205 Type Rating or similar weight category turbine helicopter (subject to insurance approval) – Advantageous:
- 1 000 Hours Total Time
- 850 Hours Pilot in Command
- 350 Hours Turbine
- 50 Hours Sling Time (Sling rating is an advantage)
Key Performance Areas:
- Responsible for Fire Suppression by:
- Delivering water and fire-retardant chemicals by under slung Bambi bucket as directed by the Command- and-Control aircraft
- Trooping firefighting personnel from base to the fire line
- Completion of indemnity forms and passenger manifests
- Completion of Captains Logs accurately after each flight and submission to Dispatch/Operations Control
- Daily Management and coordination of the Heli-Tack Team at the base
- Manage and coordinate A.S.V. (Aircraft Support Vehicle) daily
- Relocate helicopters as required
- Report daily status of crew and helicopter to Dispatch Centre
- Accurate data capturing of flights on Air Maestro
- Care of Aircraft
- Adhering to Company’s MOP, SOP’s and policies and procedures
- Providing input to ensure that runways are serviceable
- Required to sign in on time daily when on duty
- Initial attack and extended fire attack
- Aircraft ferries as required by management
- Willingness to travel and relocate as and when required

Efficient, Task driven, Own initiative, Flexible, Organised, Solution Orientated, Helpful, Patient, Ability to work under pressure, Good Communication skills, Disciplined.

COMMAND & CONTROL PILOT - AERIAL FIREFIGHTING (OBSERVER)
Position reports to: Line Captain, Chief Pilot and Responsible Person Flight Operations
Minimum Requirements:
Kishugu Fixed Wing Fire Suppression Approval
Entry level for conversion on applicable aircraft:
- Commercial Pilots Licence
- Ratings on C182, C210, and C206 will be an advantage.
- Must be prepared to travel and work Nationally
- Must have flown at least 10 hours in the last 3 months.
- Previous firefighting on ground/air would be an advantage.
- Be prepared to undertake charter flights at the Company’s convenience.
- Candidates able to commence work as soon as possible will have an advantage
