Flight Operations Controllers (3)

Kishugu® Aviation is a Nelspruit based company specialising in aircraft management, charter, flight support, aerial firefighting and aerial work services. We are looking for individuals to join our highly efficient and dynamic team in the Operations Control Centre.

Position reports to General Manager Flight Operations / Responsible Person Flight Operations.

Minimum Requirements

  • National Senior Certificate (Grade 12/Matric or equivalent)
  • English: read, write and speak fluently;
  • South African Private Pilots License working towards Commercial Pilots License;
  • Computer Literate;
  • Good Administrative and Communicative Skills;
  • South African Citizen with South African Passport;
  • Flight Followers Course;
  • FOO Course Completed (Flight Operations Officer);

Key Performance Areas

  • Crew placement Management and pre-season planning;
  • Crew Training planning and execution of recency;
  • Generating and administrating flight related documentation;
  • Briefing crew on all flight-related details;
  • Aircraft equipment logistics planning and placement;
  • Flight Planning and Following;
  • Pre-Season Base Set-Up Planning and Execution;
  • Crew Rostering / FDP watch;
  • Base Checks, Internal Document QC;

Competencies

Sound understanding of the Aviation Industry together with Positive attitude, well presentable, well-spoken, dynamic and have a passion to develop an Operations Centre. Professional conduct with regards to aviation operational documentation. Willing to work overtime as and when required. Result driven individual willing to grow his/her career within the aviation industry towards their flying qualification within the organisation.

Appointment will be subject to a compulsory 3 (three) month probationary period with the promise of becoming a permanent position. Remuneration will be commensurate with experience. Technical Services Administrator

FFA Aviation AMO 1116 (Pty) Ltd is seeking to employ a Technical Services Administrator.
Position reports to Accountable Manager / Technical Services Manager.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Must have experience in AMS (Aviation Maintenance Software) and AMP (Aviation Maintenance Planning)

Key Performance Areas

  • Work with Flight Operations Department to update all aircraft and helicopters in AMP.
  • Plan the aircraft and helicopter maintenance with Flight Operations Department.
  • Update AMP after each inspection or defect to do the maintenance planning.
  • Open work packs on AMS for scheduled maintenance, and update AMS when defects are reported.
  • Complete AMS after scheduled inspection to issue CRMA, complete applicable logbooks, and update AMP.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of Aviation terminology.
  • Ability to work after hours if required.
  • Excellent command of the English language.

Quality Assurance Manager (QAM)

FFA Aviation AMO 1116 (Pty) Ltd is seeking to employ a Quality Assurance Manager.
Position reports to Accountable Manager.

Minimum Requirements

  • Completed Grade 12 (Matric);
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the implementation and maintenance of Quality Management systems.
  • Have a minimum of three years’ experience in the aviation industry to include expertise in one of the following areas:
    (i) Aircraft operations;
    (ii) Airworthiness of aircraft;
    (iii) Aircraft accident and incident investigation;
    (iv) Aircraft and aircraft products maintenance;
    (v) Manufacturing or aircraft design.
  • A recognised certificate of competency in quality assurance system, issued by an approved ATO or any accredited institution;
  • A certificate in Internal Auditing or Third party Auditing, issued by an approved ATO or any accredited institution;
  • Any aviation-related course whose contents include a comprehensive quality assurance system training;
  • Human Factor course;
  • Completed an accredited course in Civil Aviation Regulations and Technical Standards;
  • An AME license will be advantageous.

Key Performance Areas

1. The Quality Manager is directly responsible to the Accountable Manager as coordinator of the Company’s Quality Program as required by CAR 145.
2. The Quality Manager is responsible for monitoring the Quality System which includes requesting remedial action as necessary by the Accountable Manager.
3. The Quality Manager will be responsible for:

    • Implementing and maintaining a quality audit program in which compliance with all maintenance procedures are reviewed at regular intervals through the annual audit program, in relation to each type of aircraft, (or component) maintained and that all observed non-compliances or poor standards are brought to the attention of the relevant manager;
    • Follow up, coordination and control of the progress of remedial actions;
    • Be responsible for reviewing standard practices and procedures (MOP, including the associated procedures) for use within the Organization and their adequacy regarding Part 43 & 145.
    • Conducting investigations and recommending remedial/disciplinary action when required;
    • Be responsible for submission of the MOP and the associated documents to the Authority;
    • Be responsible for assessing suppliers of new and used components, and materials, for satisfactory product quality in relation to the needs of the Organization;
    • Have direct access to the Accountable Manager in the event of any reported discrepancy not being adequately attended to by the relevant person, or in respect of any disagreement over the nature of a discrepancy;
    • Be responsible for assessing the capability of, issue/renewal/withdrawal of the staff certifying authorizations for all engineering and support staff up to and including the Maintenance Manager;
    • Be responsible for assessing sub-contractors for extension of the quality system and maintaining the expertise necessary to be able to do so, to the satisfaction of SACAA. He/she is also responsible for assessing all external specialist services required to be used by the company in the performance of maintenance;
    • Monitoring human factor issues and provide advice for improving human factor aspects related to the safety and quality of aircraft and aircraft maintenance. He/she also fully supports the Human Factor programs;
    • Performing all quality training to support the Company’s continuation training
    • Maintaining an updated service in conjunction with the appropriate regulations to support the Company’s regulatory approval status.
    • Ensuring the audit programme covers each type of aircraft, (or component) maintained on an annual basis;
    • Ensuring that all corrective action necessary for eliminating non-compliance are proposed, that these corrective actions are initiated and when completed are effective and meet their intended purpose;
    • Requiring timely remedial action of any non-conformances, as necessary, by the relevant manager or the Accountable Manager;
    • Requesting the Accountable Manager to intervene in the event of any reported non-conformance not being adequately attended to by the relevant person, or in respect of any disagreement over the nature of a non-conformance;
    • Assessing all external specialist services required to be used by the company in the performance of maintenance;
    • To maintain liaison as necessary with the Company’s customers in order to be fully conversant with any complaint or fault which may occur with the Company’s products and to ensure that such complaints and faults relating to Quality are investigated and appropriate corrective action is taken.
    • In conjunction with the SMS Manager, conduct investigations into maintenance errors and where deemed necessary, reporting including recommendations, to the Accountable Manager;
    • Have direct access to the CEO in the event of any reported discrepancy not being adequately attended to by the relevant person, or in respect of any disagreement over the nature of a discrepancy;
    • Assigning a deputy in case of absence for 30 days or more.

4. The Duties of the Quality Manager may be delegated to a qualified deputy as deemed necessary; however, such delegation does not relieve the Quality Manager of his overall responsibilities.
5. The Quality Assurance System (QAS) for this AMO, of the SACAA approved MOP, Part 3, describes the minimum standards of this AMO’s Quality Assurance System.
