Tenants, pilots and aviation enthusiasts came together on 25 May in the Lowveld Aero Club hangar to attend the monthly Safety Awareness Evening. This initiative was started by Kishugu Aviation some time ago, in an effort to sharpen safety skills among staff.

A number of big aviation names from around the Nelspruit area discussed practical topics pertaining to aviation and airport safety.

“It is an excellent platform for the tenants of the Nelspruit Airfield to come together and highlight various aviation safety aspects. For me, this is vital, not only from a safety point of view, but also as a show of force and camaraderie among the flying community,” says Datus Immink, Chairman of the Lowveld Aero Club.

“The fact that we might save a life by coming together once a month and highlighting or sharing experiences, makes these nights worth it,” Johan Heine from Kishugu Aviation concluded.

The date for the next Safety Awareness Evening is scheduled for Wednesday, 07 June 2017 when the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) will also be visiting the Nelspruit Airfield for their annual safety awareness campaign.
