Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Helicopter and Fixed Wing

Kishugu Aviation Holdings (Pty) Ltd is seeking to employ Aircraft Maintenance Engineers in the Technical Services Division within the Kishugu Aviation Group.

Position reports to: Accountable Manager Aircraft Maintenance Organisation

Minimum Requirements:

  • South African Citizen;
  • Grade 12 or equivalent;
  • Must have a current AME license with AT802 and P&W Large series., and or Bell 206, and or UH-1H, and or Cessna 100 and 200 series, Lycoming and Continental series licenses will be advantageous, and or AS350, and or R22 and R44.
  • Must have a current South African AME licence with ratings to support the aircraft maintained by this company.
  • Must have at least 5-12 years’ experience as Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.
  • Must have a current drivers licence.
  • Own transport.

Additional Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of Aviation terminology.
  • Ability to work after hours and away from home for extended periods if required.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Will be required to work on a rotation basis between Ugie, Stutterheim and the Western Cape between December to April.
  • Home base will be Nelspruit, Mpumalanga.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Perform, service, repairs, and maintenance on large fleet of Helicopter and fixed wing aircraft.
  • Verifying and making technical decisions on matters affecting airworthiness and serviceability of aircraft, engines, and components.
  • Use methods, techniques and practices which are prescribed on the current OEM’s Airworthiness data.
  • Prepare and finalize relevant paperwork according to CAR’s and CAA standards.
  • Records details of maintenance in the appropriate aircraft logbook and other approved company documentations.
  • He/she must hold an appropriately rated AME license and authorized by the AMO in terms of Part 66 and Part 145 of the CAR’s.
  • Airworthiness data, equipment, tools parts and materials are available.
  • He/she will only perform and/or certify maintenance within his/her own scope of authorization and within the scope of this AMO’s SACAA approval.
  • Will only use calibrated equipment, tools, and test apparatus necessary to ensure that maintenance is carried out in accordance with the OEM’s requirements.
  • On completion of the maintenance, he/she will ensure that the condition of the aircraft is satisfactory for release to service and is at least equal to its original or properly modified condition.
  • Provide detailed list of snags, defects, inoperative equipment the owner, operator/ clients.
  • Perform daily tool checks on personal tools to ensure safety or aircraft.
  • Work with Quality / Safety to close findings

Appointment will be subject to a compulsory three-month probationary period with the promise of becoming a permanent position. Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
